I Feel It Again. The Pull to the Light.
Dominick, cosplaying as Kylo Ren, was the first to pick from the box of prizes our friend James Dufendach of Ocean City Comic Con helped us put together for our third shop anniversary in October. The little Dark side warrior chose a Star Wars figure, obviously. His brother, Mason, then decided on a Mr. Potato Head toy. The fiery duo won audience favorite in our virtual Trinket or Treat costume contest.
The second Saturday of December is usually Ocean City Comic Con, but it had to be canceled this year due to the pandemic. However, the organizers felt the pull to the Light and decided to give everyone the opportunity to win more prizes in a virtual cosplay contest! All you have to do is email one photo of yourself in your costume to promotions@oceancitycomiccon.com along with your name, age, and the title of the character you are cosplaying as. Deadline to enter is Dec. 13, then all entries will be posted to an album on the Ocean City Comic Con Facebook page Dec. 14. The picture with the most likes on Dec. 19 will win the audience choice award! Plus judges Fanbustion, Ally Blaze Cosplay, and Carter Cosplay (Kristine Knowlton) will still pick first, second, and third place winners in both kids and adults categories. Details at facebook.com/OceanCityComicCon.
If you get dressed up Saturday, Dec. 12 to enter, you have somewhere to go – our comic shop at 129 Union St. in Milton. Everyone who shows up in costume from noon to 3pm will get to choose an item from our box of prizes. Not only that, but we’re offering $1 back issues and 25% off trades, toys and statues. We’re also celebrating the convention spirit by hosting two socially distanced artists, Fred Giovannitti and Matt Battaglia. Several other spots within walking distance will be offering specials the same day. Check out the Second Saturday flyer at facebook.com/MiltonDelawareChamber.
