Hungry for More of The Walking Dead
When we at the Grove heard the noise about “The Walking Dead” television show back in 2010, we staggered toward it and joined the herd. Both of us have been zombie fans since childhood. George A. Romero’s “Night of the Living Dead” was the first zombie movie I saw that left me hungry for more. And every Halloween, Aquariann still dances to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” which Santa gave her a VHS of in the late 1980s.
Even as comic geeks, we had somehow missed “The Walking Dead” comics so our first introduction came with the AMC show. I was hooked from the first episode. It was the best show I had seen in years. After season one wrapped, I had to know what the books were like and tracked down “The Walking Dead: Compendium One.” I binge read it, and every compendium after as soon as available.
It is a marvel the way they move through the world after the zombie outbreak. Although the zombies are the obvious grab, the writers use them as a background for the main stories. The villains may seem over the top, but as their story unfolds, you realize they could have been people you know in everyday life until the zombie apocalypse happened. Unlike most series, there is a finite end to the cast of characters. They die and sometimes very quickly – no one, no matter how much watchers love them, is safe from death in this series.
The show will return Sunday, Feb. 12 for the second half of season 7. It’s hard to believe time has gone by so fast. If you have been living in a cave for the last 7 years, then you need to catch up on this show.
Then read the books. The two worlds are so far apart and yet so similar. Robert Kirkman is a story telling genius that keeps you guessing and on your toes. As I spend the next few weeks mentally preparing for the premiere, I highly suggest you pick up a compendium or three and see for yourself the other Walking Dead world. It does not disappoint.
I have watched every episode and love the show. I love the special effects and the whole story line. It’s something my husband and i watch together and even though some episodes are gross, i still love it. It keeps my on my toes wanting to watch more.
So I am not into the Walking Dead, but man my 2 youngest adult kids are! They love the show. I suspect my daughter has probably read some of the comics as well.
A very funny story- I used to have an irrational fear of zombies, that is until my husband finally convinced me to watch a few episodes of TWD. I was pretty much hooked after the second episode, and I’ve been a huge fan ever since! Ok, and I no longer have an irrational fear of zombies. Haha
I like the story line. The characters are interesting

I love this show because you just never know who will be killed off, if anyone. I also love how real-life the actors are made up.
I do so enjoy The Walking Dead show and can’t wait for it to be back this season. I know most fans love it for the Zombies but I am more about the actual story of the program. I love Rick and some of the other characters and their story lines. I’ve never been a fan of guts and gory stuff they show.
I love The Walking Dead because its sucks you into liking the Characters and your rooting for their survival. I’m also a big fan of horror and thriller movies so the zombies in this show are a huge draw for people like me… and the zombies are so freak’in awesome. Each season they decay just a little more! Gross!! But Cool!
I adore The Walking Dead because the setting of the show means the stakes are always high and danger is always waiting right around the corner. After a TWD marathon, I always find myself jumping at every shadow or noise. It really gets into my head and I feel like I’m right there with the characters, and that’s always a sure sign of a quality TV show.

I love the Walking Dead! I have watched it since the beginning and I can’t stop. It just keeps me wanting to see what’s going to happen next.
I love this show! It is a roller coaster of emotions. You love characters. You hate characters. You laugh and you cry. I look forward to every season and always want more!

I am a huge Walking Dead fan because it really looks at the way humans react in a time of crises and how we can ban together to survive. It’s not really about zombies as much as it is the human spirit and will to survive!
I love the Walking Dead for it’s characters, story lines…well everything. The cast is amazing, the writing is creative and entertaining, the direction is spot on. Very well made….and there is Darryl. 🙂
I’ve been a fan of the Walking Dead since season 1 episode 1. I haven’t missed a single episode. Sadly, I too wasn’t aware of the comic book series until the television show made me become aware of it. I do want to catch up on it and see how it comes to the tv show.
I got into the show when my daughter and granddaughter became obsessed with it. I admit I am on the edge of my seat most of the time

I have never seen an episode of the walking dead. Don’t judge me, lol. I have so many other shows to watch. My family likes it though.
My whole family loves the walking Dead! we went to Walker Stalker in 2015 and had a blast. We got pictures with Norman. Michael Rooker, Tovah and quite a few members of the cast!
My daughter and I both love The Walking Dead and consider it quality time together!
I have watched The Walking Dead from the beginning and it just keeps on getting better and better. I admit the beginning of this years episode was a little disturbing but I got through it. I can’t wait for it to come back on in February. It just a show I really enjoy watching….
I binge watched series 1-6 and will catch up with series 7 soon I like to watch them all at once otherwise I lose what happens 🙂

We are a Walkimg Dead family!! My entire family LOVES the walking dead! My kids love it! We text my mom during commercials lol she loves it.. my kids would really love this calendar! It would be much more entertaining to look at everyday than a boring school calendar!!
Honestly, I have no idea why I like the show but I do! I am addicted to it, even though I am not a fan of gore. I guess I just want to know who makes it in the end! I really hate that Netflix is so far behind, because that is the only way I have of watching the show.

The Walking Dead WAS a favorite of our family. This first half of this season really was the pits and was completely a waste. It seems like their only goal was to end the show. Hopefully the 2nd half will be more like we are used to. If not, we will put the show down to a was good while it lasted.
I can’t wait for the new season. I remember when the very first episode appeared on TV and that’s also how I discovered the comics.
I love that zombies make a background to tell the stories and how the characters evolve. It’s the best series ever to me (next to Futurama:)).
“Night of the Living Dead” was my first zombie movie too. Thanks to it I fell in love with zombies and I’m the fan of George A. Romero ever since.
I love the Walking Dead. I like the way you never know just what direction this show is going on which makes it fun. I especially like seeing some of the characters grow up on the show like Carl did.

So, I’m a big fan of TWD. BUT, it took a bit of time. My husband asked me to watch it with him. I barely made it through episode 1 then I was done. He kept watching. End of season 3 he asked me to tune in and I did, then I was hooked. At the end of season 4 I went back and we marathoned it and now I don’t hate Lori anymore, LOL. We love the show and are huge fans because as much as it is a show about zombie’s and death, it is more about hope and humanity and finding common ground.
